i-INOVA 2018, USIM



We are proud to inform you that our Head of Department, Ustaz Mohd Hafiz Mohd Dasar and his research team from KUIS has won the Gold Medal in recent I-INOVA 18. The competition was held on March 10, 2018 at Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM). I-INOVA is Ekspo Inovasi Islam with theme "Innovation: Gateway for Sustainable Society". This exhibition and competition is to introduce the innovative products from higher learning institutions. The team has invent Sadaqa House Model.

ICTTBM 2018



Department of Muamalat (DOM) KPIJ Marsah has send our representative, Ms Khairun Nisaq Taslim to present our research paper to International Conference on Tourism. Technology and Business Management 2018 (ICTTBM 2018). The conference is organized by Global Academic Excellence, held at TH Hotel and Convention Centre, Terengganu. 

Our research paper is under title "The Potential of Islamic Banking and Finance in One Belt One Road (OBOR) Countries: A Way Forward". The paper is part of OBOR Project (Malaysian Chapter), collaboration with Ustaz Abdul Musyrif from UTeM. 




SSPIS 2017


On Nov 28, 2018 - one of our academician Mdm Norafni has presenting her paper in Social Science Postgraduate International Seminar (SSPIS 2017) at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). Although the seminar intended for postgraduate students, we see this seminar as platform to disseminate knowledge and to build good rapport with other researchers from other institutions.

The topic presented was "Bridging Halal Industry and Islamic Finance: Conceptual Review on the Internal Governance"

Diploma of Islamic Finance (N/343/4/0172) (MQA/PA/5076) 12 Feb 2020

The Diploma in Islamic Finance program is set up to produce a workforce with an understanding and control over Islamic finance without neglecting knowledge in conventional finance. The graduate program is expected to be able to practice Islamic finance to strengthen the Islamic financial system in Malaysia and to build a quality workforce for the needs of the country's economy.

  • or Assistant Officer in any Islamic financial institution
Course Structure:

Student must complete a total of 91 credit in order to be awarded the Diploma in Islamic Finance.
Duration of programme is 6 semesters, which is equal to three years including 4 months industrial training.
Students must take and pass all courses prescribed as follows:

  •      HEP Compulsory Courses: 10 credit
  •      MIF Core: 27 credit
  •      Discipline Core: 39 credit
  •      Discipline Elective: 9 credit
  •      Industrial Training: 6 credit

Entry Requirement:
  • Pass in Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) at least 3 credit including Bahasa Melayu and pass in Mathematics; OR
  • Pass in Malaysian Higher School Certificate (STPM) or equivalent at least Grade C (CGPA 2.0) in 1 subject; and pass in Mathematics in SPM; OR
  • Pass in Malaysian Higher Islamic Religious Certificate (STAM) (maqbul); and pass in Mathematics in SPM; OR 
  • Other equivalent recognized qualifications.

Fees:
Local Students: RM18, 500.00

The course fee is inclusive registration, examination, accommodation, insurance and other services fee exclude transportation.

2nd ISLAMIC FINANCE INTELLECTUAL DISCOURSE 2018



Kolej Pengajian Islam Johor (MARSAH) under Department of Muamalat and IRCIEF Kolej Universiti Islam Selangor (KUIS) has collaborated in organizing 2nd Islamic Finance Intellectual Discourse (IFID 2018). It was a three-day intellectual discource with prominent scholars in Islamic Finance. The theme for this year is related with Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). 

The discourse was officiated by our CEO, Prof Dr Mohd Som Sujimon. The keynote address was delivered by Prof Datuk Dr Mohd Azmi Omar - President and CEO of INCEIF. Among the honorable speakers are from Bank Negara, ISRA, IIUM Institute of Islamic Banking and Finance, Chief Shariah Officer of Bank Rakyat and Chief of Shariah-Compliance of Bank Islam. IFID 2018 has been attended by academicians, paractitioners and students. 

Department of Muamalat KPIJ Marsah is represented by our lecturers and students. The topics discussed were vast and diverse covering every part of Islamic finance such as the Shariah governance, Islamic capital market, Value-Based Intermediation (VBI), and poverty alleviation.

13th WORLD ISLAMIC ECONOMICS FORUM 2017



The 13th World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) was held at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching Sarawak on 21-23 November 2017. The theme was "Disruptive Change: Impact and Challenges". 

The 13th WIEF has attracted crowd over 3000 participants from academicians, leaders and experts in which they have fruitful discussion on the future growth and sustainability. In conjunction with WIEF 2017, The Sadaqa House has also launched its book "Sadaqa House: Its Viability in the Islamic Banking Framework". The book explore the feasibility of Sadaqa House in every aspect such as Islamic banking framework, legal framework, Shariah framework and many more. 

From Department of Muamalat, we are proud to inform you that our Head of Department, Ustaz Mohd Hafiz Mohd Dasar is one of the contributors of the book and one of research team in the implementation of Sadaqa House. The book is available at major bookstores.
